The Tickford Racing driver is currently on a flying visit to England taking part in a promotion with Castrol and its rallying partner, the famous Ford-shod M-Sport outfit.
He was joined by RFK NASCAR driver Chris Buescher, WRC legends Petter Solberg and Carlos Sainz Sr and current M-Sport driver Josh McErlean.
The experience included a ride in the M-Sport T1+ Dakar Raptor before a passenger ride with Sainz in the WRC car and then the unique opportunity to sample the WRC car himself.
“It was pretty insane,” Randle told Speedcafe.
“I left Melbourne Sunday night and got the UK Monday midday and then [Tuesday] did filming out at M-Sport with Castrol and Ford to celebrate their long-standing partnership.
“I got to be in the Dakar car and then we went to the forrest and drove the current-spec WRC car which was an amazing experience.
“They are heading to the new rules in 2027 so to be a lucky person to get to steer a current WRC car, with all of that aero and everything, was incredible.

“I didn’t know what to expect. I first went as a passenger with Carlos Sainz Sr and we were in the forrest, lots of trees, on the mud and gravel. He said there was no grip, so I was a bit nervous before my drive.
“But I got do a launch and have it in stage mode which was cool. I kept it on the road which was good and had an unbelievable experience.
“Thanks to Castrol and Ford and M-Sport and everyone involved. It’s been an experience I’ll remember for a long time.”
Randle will return to Supercars action at the BP Adelaide Grand Final which kicks off on November 27.
He is not longer in title contention having been bundled out of Finals at Sandown.
